There is no question CPAs have a strong understanding of the financial complexities many clients face when it comes to tax, estate planning, financial analysis and managing cash flow. “As a trusted advisor to our clients, we have insight into the complete picture, both financial and often nonfinancial,” stated Angela Frazier, Managing Partner of EGP Wealth Management.

The complementary relationship between taxation and financial advisory brings many advantages, each impacting the other. Our clients can trust that we are focused on the best interests of their families and businesses so they can have peace of mind in knowing they have prepared for their future and retirement. Working with our firm for both tax and financial advisory services allows for the integration of tax strategies with financial decisions to minimize tax implications. There is simply no substitute for the confidence that comes with the expertise of an experienced advisor.

Your Financial Life

Life changes, markets evolve, tax laws shift, and family circumstances develop over time. Periodically stepping back to review your financial picture can help ensure your planning remains aligned with your goals, priorities, and long-term needs.

As you consider the topics below, we are always available to assist you and discuss any questions you may have regarding:

Tax Planning. Tax laws and planning opportunities continue to evolve. Regular review of your tax situation may help identify strategies related to retirement distributions, charitable giving, capital gains, business ownership, estate planning, and other areas that could affect your long-term financial picture.

Estate Planning. When was the last time you reviewed your trust, will, or estate documents? Have there been any major life changes such as births, deaths, marriages, divorces, business changes, or changes in health? It may be appropriate to review beneficiary designations, powers of attorney, health care directives, trusts, and other estate planning documents to confirm they continue to reflect your wishes and objectives.

Emergency Funds. Maintaining an appropriate level of cash reserves remains an important component of financial planning. Emergency funds can help provide flexibility during unexpected events or market volatility. The amount of liquidity appropriate for each individual or family will vary depending on employment status, retirement needs, expenses, and overall financial circumstances.

Life Insurance. Life insurance needs can change significantly over time depending on age, family structure, income needs, debts, and estate planning objectives. It may be beneficial to periodically review existing coverage, beneficiary designations, and the type of policies you own, including term, universal, or whole life insurance.

Buy/Sell Insurance. Business owners may benefit from reviewing buy/sell agreements and related insurance coverage periodically. Changes in business value, ownership structure, or succession goals may affect whether current arrangements continue to meet the needs of the business and its owners.

Disability Insurance. Disability insurance can help protect income in the event of an illness or injury that limits your ability to work. Employer-sponsored coverage may not fully address an individual’s needs, particularly for self-employed individuals or business owners.

Long Term Care Insurance (LTC). Long term care planning addresses potential future needs related to assisted living, nursing care, in-home care, and other support services. Coverage structures, costs, and available products have evolved significantly over time. Evaluating long term care options as part of a broader retirement and estate strategy may help provide additional flexibility and planning confidence.

Asset Allocation of Investment Portfolio. Market conditions, economic environments, and personal financial goals can change over time. Periodic review of your investment portfolio and asset allocation may help ensure your investments continue to align with your objectives, time horizon, liquidity needs, and tolerance for risk. At EGP Wealth Management, our research resources include institutional and independent sources such as Charles Schwab, Morningstar, Seeking Alpha and CFRA Research.
